1. Purpose and Scope
These Donations and Payments Terms apply when a person donates, pays, starts or cancels a recurring donation, uses a payment method, gives through an organization page, appeal, category, Terminal, QuickPay, website checkout, mobile app, admin app, payment-device flow, donation history, receipt/history surface, customer portal, support flow, or related Qannects payment surface.
Payments are a trust and responsibility. Qannects expects donors, organizations, admins, finance users, payment-device operators, platform operators, and support teams to handle funds, donor information, records, receipts, appeals, refunds, and disputes truthfully, carefully, lawfully, and consistently with Qannects' Islamic principles and values.
Not every payment feature is available to every organization, donor, admin, workspace, region, currency, payment method, device, product, or release.
2. Payment Processors and Connected Accounts
Qannects may use third-party payment processors, including Stripe, to process cards, payment methods, connected accounts, checkout sessions, donation subscriptions, Terminal payments, QuickPay payments, invoices, balance transactions, application fees, customer portals, refunds, disputes, and chargebacks.
Card and payment method details are processed by payment providers. Qannects stores payment references, receipts, donation metadata, processor identifiers, support records, audit records, and other operational records needed to operate and support payment features.
Payment-provider terms, bank rules, card-network rules, fraud controls, sanctions controls, identity checks, account connection status, processor availability, and applicable law may affect whether a payment can be created, captured, settled, refunded, disputed, cancelled, or reported.
Organizations may need their own connected payment account or payment eligibility before receiving donations. Qannects may block, delay, disable, or limit payment features if an organization is not connected, verified, eligible, active, compliant, or otherwise ready for the relevant processor flow.
3. Donations and Organization Responsibility
Unless a specific flow clearly says otherwise, donations made through Qannects are directed to the organization, appeal, category, or payment context selected in the product. Qannects provides platform and payment tools but is not automatically the recipient charity, merchant of record, religious authority, tax advisor, zakat certifier, accountant, or fundraiser of record for every donation.
Organizations and authorized operators are responsible for truthful donation appeals, accurate organization identity, lawful fundraising, proper use and stewardship of funds, donor communications, receipts, acknowledgements, statements, tax treatment where applicable, zakat/sadaqah/restricted-fund representations where applicable, refund cooperation, dispute cooperation, internal controls, admin access, and device access.
Do not use Qannects donation or payment tools for fraud, deceptive appeals, fake donor recognition, money laundering, stolen payment methods, unauthorized charges, chargeback abuse, pressure tactics, false zakat claims, false tax-deductibility claims, prohibited goods or services, or misuse of entrusted funds.
4. Amounts, Tips, and Cover Fees
A payment may include a donation amount, optional platform-support tip, optional or required cover-fee amount where configured, processor fee, application fee, organization amount, net amount, currency, line-item metadata, and related records.
If a donor chooses to add a platform-support tip, that tip may support Qannects or platform operations according to the product flow. If a donor chooses to cover fees, the payment amount may be increased to help offset processor or platform costs.
The exact fee, net amount, and settlement outcome may differ based on processor rules, card type, connected account, payment method, rounding, currency, dispute, refund, chargeback, or later adjustment.
Qannects will present donation amount, tip, cover-fee, recurring amount, and total charge information in the product before charging the donor where the relevant product flow supports those fields.
5. Recurring Donations, Cancellations, and Account Billing
Where recurring donations are enabled, a donor may create a recurring payment using supported processor subscription flows. Recurring donations may include donation amount, tip, cover-fee choice, interval, organization, category, appeal, subscription identifier, invoice history, status, current period, cancellation date, and related records.
Cancelling a recurring donation generally stops or changes future billing according to processor state and product capability. Cancellation does not automatically refund past donations, past tips, past cover fees, processor fees, or prior charges.
Subscription status, billing dates, invoice history, failed payments, payment retries, and cancellation behavior may depend on the payment processor, connected account, donor payment method, organization status, and Qannects support review.
General account subscription billing is separate from recurring donations. Account billing endpoints may be disabled, reserved, or relaunched separately, and recurring donation availability should not be read as a promise that account subscription billing is active.
6. Terminal, QuickPay, and In-Person Payments
Terminal, QuickPay, and in-person donation flows are organization/admin-operated payment surfaces. Authorized organization admins or payment-device operators may create card-present payment intents, use connected Stripe accounts, capture payments, assign donations to appeals or categories, select preset amounts, and record payment metadata.
Payment-device access carries heightened responsibility. Operators must not charge without donor authorization, misstate the recipient, hide fees, misrepresent tips, keep a device after losing authority, use another organization's device/account, or process payments for personal use.
Terminal and QuickPay behavior may depend on reader state, device authorization, app version, Stripe Terminal availability, connection tokens, Bluetooth/local network state, card-present rules, capture state, and backend donation-device contracts.
In-person and QuickPay records may use labels such as Terminal Donor, Quick Pay Donor, donor name, selected category, appeal, payment intent, net amount, stripe fee, application fee, and other metadata depending on product behavior.
7. Receipts, History, and Donor Recognition
Qannects may provide donation history, recurring history, subscription history, invoices, payment references, organization/admin donation lists, donation statements, top-donor lists, and related records where available.
These records may be incomplete, delayed, corrected, limited, or affected by processor availability, legacy records, missing appeal/category references, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, account state, organization state, support review, or technical issues.
Top-donor or donor-recognition features may show donor names, profile details, amounts, ranks, periods, or other display information according to organization settings and product behavior. Donors should review any available anonymity or display choices before donating.
Organizations must not use donor-recognition tools to shame, pressure, manipulate, or expose private donor information.
8. Tax, Zakat, and Religious Treatment
Qannects does not provide tax, charitable-deductibility, accounting, zakat, religious, or legal advice.
A donation shown in Qannects is not automatically tax-deductible, zakat-valid, religiously certified, restricted to a particular use, or guaranteed to satisfy a donor's religious or legal obligation.
Organizations are responsible for any statements they make about tax deductibility, charity status, zakat eligibility, sadaqah, waqf, restricted funds, receipts, charitable registration, fundraising permits, and use of funds.
Any zakat calculator, donation category, appeal label, religious description, or organization statement is informational unless a qualified advisor, organization, or separate certified process supports it. Donors should consult qualified advisors for tax, zakat, legal, financial, and religious questions.
9. Refunds, Failed Payments, Disputes, and Chargebacks
Qannects does not provide a universal refund guarantee.
Refunds, failed payments, chargebacks, disputes, reversals, processor fees, application fees, tips, cover fees, recurring cancellations, and settlement changes may depend on payment processor rules, organization policy, product context, applicable law, timing, fund availability, fraud controls, donor bank/card issuer decisions, and Qannects support review.
Qannects may assist with support review, processor references, organization contact, fraud review, and record preservation, but an organization may remain responsible for refund decisions, donor communication, charitable restrictions, chargeback evidence, and reconciliation.
Qannects may restrict accounts, organizations, workspaces, payment devices, donation flows, or payment access if there is fraud, unauthorized use, excessive disputes, misleading appeals, processor risk, compliance risk, safety risk, policy violation, or legal concern.
10. Records, Privacy, and Retention
Qannects may store donation and payment-related records such as organization, donor, user, appeal, category, amount, tip, cover-fee choice, optional note, payment type, reference ID, payment intent ID, subscription ID, subscription status, net amount, processor fee, application fee, donor name, invoice data, receipt/history records, device records, support records, admin reports, audit logs, fraud signals, and related metadata.
Some payment records may be retained for legal, safety, audit, accounting, tax, processor, fraud-prevention, dispute, chargeback, compliance, support, backup, or operational reasons even after account deletion or content removal.
Deleting an account may not delete donation records, payment references, processor records, organization records, receipts, statements, dispute evidence, audit logs, platform-support records, or records required by law or processor rules. Data rights and account deletion are addressed in the Data Rights and Delete Account Policy.
11. Future Store and Delivery Services
Store is currently demo, preview, or pilot posture unless Qannects explicitly launches it as a public marketplace. Delivery services are not deployed as public services at this stage.
This Donations and Payments policy is not final marketplace, seller, buyer, order, checkout, refund, delivery, driver, payout, dispute, tax, permissible-goods, or delivery-service payment terms.
If Qannects later launches public Store, delivery services, seller payout, driver payout, order payment, marketplace refund, delivery fee, service fee, escrow-like, or commerce-payment services, those services will need separate public terms before launch.
12. Payment Acceptance and Updates
Qannects may require organizations, workspace owners, admins, finance users, payment-device operators, or other role holders to review and accept payment-specific terms before enabling donations, connected accounts, Terminal, QuickPay, receipts, payment reports, statements, refunds, disputes, or other payment features.
If Qannects materially changes payment processing, donation, recurring, tip, cover-fee, refund, dispute, Terminal, QuickPay, tax/zakat disclaimer, or organization responsibility rules, Qannects may require renewed acceptance before continued use of affected payment features.
Payment acceptance is a context-specific gate for payment authority and payment-device access, not a substitute for global Terms and Privacy acceptance.
